Welcome to Engine House Cottages, at Wheal Rose, near St Agnes in Cornwall.
These large, spacious, well appointed cottages sleeps 6 persons with ease and are set in the grounds of a Cornish Tin Mine Engine House. The grounds have lawned areas for children to play safely and we even have a quiet area with a seat for reading, which has fantastic scenic views across the valley, with engine houses on the skyline.
Just imagine having a lazy breakfast in the sun on the patio, then when you feel ready to enjoy the rest of Cornwall, you are comforted by the fact that you do not have to face hours of driving, as all major places to visit are an easy drive from the cottages. Lands End, St Ives and The Eden Project are not a problem and our nearest beach is just five minutes away.
Two of our local beaches, Porthtowan and Chapel Porth have fantastic views along the cliffs to the North and all the way to St. Ives to the South. They have vast stretches of sand and are marvellous for surfing, swimming or just soaking up the sun. Lifeguards are in attendance during the season.
Wheal Rose is a quiet village in the heart of the tin mining area of Cornwall. The coastal scenery and cliff walks are breathtaking and the cottages are 100 meters away from the Mineral Tramway, a walking and cycling network, featured on the "Railway Walks" TV programme presented by Julia Bradbury. It stretches the length and breadth of this mid Cornwall area and you can walk from the North to the South Coast in a few hours, passing interesting landscapes with vivid yellow gorse bushes, purple heather and Buzzards overhead.
